The Capacity Building Project in Statistics, Forecasting and Planning in the Fight against Poverty in the Republic of Congo or Projet de Renforcement des Capacités en Statistiques, Etudes Prospectives et Planification pour la LutteContre la Pauvreté en République du Congo (RESPEC) was identified and prepared by the Government of Congo as a program to build the country’s capacity in the specific areas of statistics, and poverty reduction strategic planning and management.
The goal of RESPEC was to improve the performance of the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Budget and the Ministry of Planning and Economic Integration, two of the most critical ministries responsible for establishing the stable macroeconomic environment necessary for the creation of a foundation for sustainable reconstruction, rehabilitation and poverty reduction in the Congo.
