The Centre for Policy Analysis (CEPA) was incorporated in January 1993 under Ghana’s Companies Code, 1963 (Act 179) as an independent, non-profit and non-governmental think-tank, which provides analysis and perspectives on economic policy issues of Ghana and the developing world. ACBF funded the establishment of CEPA and has supported the centre since 1993.
The objectives for CEPA were to
- provide alternative policy options to policy makers and other stakeholders through research;
- Enhance capacities of other institutions in Ghana through training, networking and internships;
- Increase economic information dissemination to raise public awareness of economic development issues.
- Enhance institutional capacity in order to respond to the changing domestic and international environment.
